Goal:
Engage minority and underserved post-secondary students in a health disparities symposium to pursue academic careers in biomedical sciences, clinical, behavioral and community research, health, medicine, nursing , allied public health, community health and health education.
Objectives:
* Provide opportunities for post-secondary students to be exposed to various approaches to reducing health disparities through multiple disciplines
* Increase knowledge & awareness about the science of health disparities and the role of various health professions in promoting health equity.
* Increase knowledge & awareness about the science of health disparities and the role of clinical, basic science and community based research in promoting health equity.
* Provide opportunities for post-secondary students to network with and meet diverse health & research professionals
